back area

plum tree and the zucchini forest in the back. sugar snap pea and soybeans growing on the right

2 japanese cucumber plants on the left of the zucchini forest

another bloom on one of the zucchini plants. (this is currently the 4th bloom - all on the same zucchini plant). the problem is that all of these blooms are female (the have a small zuchini growing at the base of the flower - males lack this trait - so i dont think these will mature into edible zucchini. i see some male flowers coming up, though.

sugar snap pea plants. i think the one closest to the camera has two flower buds on it...we'll have to see in the next few days. (so far they are the only buds on any of my 5 sugar snap pea plants)

soybean plants - continuing to grow bushy and leaves getting bigger, but no flower buds yet. a few seedlings in front

4 blue lake bush bean plant seedlings growing (i planted those seeds 2 weeks ago). there are some calendula and sage seedlings there too.

blossom on the oldest cucumber plant i've had in the ground. this one is not a japanese cucumber (actually i dont know what it is...maybe it is one)

more cucumber and sugar snap pea plants

the jalapeno pepper plant...surprisingly this one is rather happy. i think its the soil back there - seems to be richer back there. the jalapeno plant is starting to show more blooms and the earlier bloom - i believe - is starting to bulge into a pepper

merlot grape plant. this one looks really healthy - getting bushy..no grapes. there is a soybean plant to the right of it

this is another proof that the soil in the back is richer in nutrients than on the left side...the two small bushes are african daises. the african daisies on the left side are nowhere close to being this bushy and healthy. concord grape plant at far right

watermelon plants...

the almond tree. not sure if anything is happening with this plant right now...
