a few miscellaneous things to share...

while tilling the soil on the right side, i found a few weird things...i dont know what the top two things are, nor the thing on the far left (bottom), but to the right of that, is a marble and the two things on the right side are mummified remains of carrots. whoever lived here before us, they did in fact grow vegetables on the right side. and their carrots came out really nicely!

the latest plants i bought. i bought these to be companion plants to the heirloom tomato plants i recently bought, but i think i bought way too much. i don't want it to be too overcrowded. these companion plants help to keep pests away from the tomatoes. there is an echinachea plant in there (far left), and this is not for the tomatoes - i just wanted to add this plant somewhere to my garden. they are quite pretty. this one is supposed to be a orange/red color.

seedlings. you've seen this one before...my bush bean plants (4) and the calendula growing in front of that.

more seedlings...don't ask me what all the other ones are..i just know i planted a lot of bell pepper plants, some sage, some basil, more bush beans (successive planting) and some carrots

my latest seedlings - marigold, calendula, german chamomile and nasturtium. it seems that in the vegetable world, these 4 plants are generally good companion plants to keep away pests.
