okay, so i think i identified the low-spreading plant with the small orange flowers...it is in fact a weed.

it's called "spurge". mine doesn't have the red splotch in the middle of the leaves, but click on the link that says "view another large image"...that plant looks exactly like what i have.

okay, now on to identify the other plant...


the other one with the scalloped edges, i think, is called wild geranium.
